Pig Heart Boy – a story with a lot of heart...
I felt sympathy for Cameron – the Pig Heart boy of the book title, because he has not got many choices or chances to live. After a fatal heart disease which he seemed to get over, he was left slowly dying.
Malorie Blackman, is a really good writer who writes books that are close to life and captures the imagination of the young audiences like me. She also opened up a new portal of a new aspect of life for me to explore and challenge.
The story is packed full of laughter and tears [bathos in bagfuls] and made me feel like I was there with Cameron – watching him die –but fighting to live. I wanted to tell Cameron to stay strong and carry on.
I can never find a good book to read and I get bored –but when I read Pig Heart Boy – I could not put in down. Even the synopsis was enticing .
Here is Malorie blackman in action talking about her book pig heart boy.
